Cura\u00e7ao, October 31, 2025<\/strong><\/p>

A delegation from the Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa (UCESA), mandated by Mr. Abdelkader Amara, President of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC) of the Kingdom of Morocco and of UCESA, participated in the meetings of the Board and the General Assembly of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS), held in Cura\u00e7ao on October 30 and 31, 2025.<\/p>

The General Assembly was marked by the election of the Economic and Social Council of Greece as the new President of AICESIS, succeeding the Economic and Social Council of Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>

Speaking on behalf of President Abdelkader Amara, Mr. Youn\u00e8s Benakki, Secretary-General of the ESEC Morocco and UCESA, paid tribute to the exemplary work accomplished under the presidency of the Cura\u00e7ao Council. He also extended his congratulations to the Greek ESC on its election to the Presidency of AICESIS and conveyed his best wishes for a successful term of office.<\/p>

Mr. Benakki underlined the quality of cooperation between UCESA and AICESIS, and\u00a0 highlighted the catalytic role that AICESIS can play, in partnership with other international bodies, in advancing key global priorities such as the just transition, artificial intelligence, and the monitoring of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>

The discussions highlighted the significant role of the Moroccan ESEC in coordinating the positions of African institutions within AICESIS and commended Morocco\u2019s ESEC major contribution in advancing sustainable inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind. This collective effort, presented at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), shed light on the common challenges to achieving the SDGs and proposed forward-looking, context-sensitive responses rooted in national and regional realities.<\/p>

On this occasion, the Moroccan ESEC and the Economic and Social Council of Cura\u00e7ao \u2014 a member of the Network of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Latin America and the Caribbean (CESISALC) \u2014 agreed to strengthen their institutional cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering the exchange of expertise and developing joint initiatives in the economic, social, and environmental spheres.<\/p>

The Moroccan delegation also participated, on October 30, 2025, in a thematic workshop dedicated to examining the challenges and opportunities associated with artificial intelligence and social dialogue.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
